The Importance of News on Circuit Court

Jakarta | badilag.net/English - If we type keywords “sidang keliling”  (circuit court) through Google search engine, then we will be displayed around 11.600 to 167.000 results, most of which are about the news on circuit courts carried out by Religious Courts across Indonesia.

This is surely a good news. Due to the transparency developed by the Religious Courts, particularly on reporting circuit court, people are now more informed that justice for the poor is no longer a lip service but has been actually implemented.

a view of Circuit Court

A panel of judges from North Jakarta Religious Court are hearing a civil case through circuit court held in Kepulauan Seribu (Thousand Islands), the outermost area of the jurisdiction

The Indonesian government also positively sees the availability of circuit court along with prodeo cases (fee waiver). The state will also allocate a quite sufficient budget for circuit court and prodeo cases for the year 2011 to 2014. Consequently, Religious Courts should formally make public the realization of circuit court and prodeo, and news on circuit court is the one which is believed to give a significant impact for both the society and the courts.

“Circuit court is one of the most important services that Religious Courts provide to justice seekers. It will be very good if Religious Courts publish circuit court activities on their own websites. It’s even better if the news is sent to badilag.net, so more people will access,” said Director General of Badilag, Wahyu Widiana on Friday (21/5).

It is unfortunate that a number of Religious Courts are still reluctant to record and publish their activities on circuit court. Therefore, Wahyu asks Religious Courts to report the implementation of circuit court to public.
