The Director General of the Religious Courts, Wahyu Widiana, presents his paper on seven prioritized reform programs in the Religious Courts.  He explains the programs in the meeting of the commission II, Matahari Room, Hotel Mercure Ancol, Tuesday (20/09/2011).

The programs include case settlement, human resource management, website, client service and information desk, case management system, supervision and justice for all consisting of waiving court fees, circuit court and legal aid post.

“These programs are aimed to support the Blue Print of the Indonesian Supreme Court 2010-2035”, he said.

“It is unavoidable that we must change”, he said.

In May 2011, the Directorate General of the Religious Courts (Badilag) has created a Monitoring Team. The main responsibility of this team is to monitor whether seven prioritized programs have been implemented in the Religious Courts or not. It will also make some recommendations for the future.

“Badilag will award some Religious Courts which carry out the programs very well,” Wahyu Widiana said.

In previous month, Badilag had awarded some Religious Courts of which won the website competition. Some of them achieved the five best of the best among all courts in Indonesia.

At the end of this year, AusAid will plan to assess all websites of the Religious Courts.

“I hope all websites must be regularly updated”, he said.

Legal Aid Post (Posbakum)

Badilag has made some brilliant progress in supporting program of “justice for all”. The recent collected data shows that the number of the Posbakum users increases dramatically. After five months Posbakum has operated in 46 Religious Courts, there are 16,390 people enjoying Posbakum. The number will increase after 12 months of operation. Badilag sets the target with 11.553 services. It show a great achievement.

Cate Sumner who also attends the meeting, appreciates the achievement gained by Badilag.
