Commemoration of Birthday of Prophet Muhammad SAW in High Religious Court of Yogyakarta:

"Through the commemoration of birthday of the Prophet, we Improve Public Services in the Field of Law"

Yogyakarta, www.pta-yogyakarta.go.id (15/03/10) - High Religious Court of Yogyakarta (PTA Yogyakarta), on Monday, (15/03/10) coinciding at the end of the Rabi’ul-Awwal 1431 Hijriah held a simple event commemorating the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday (Maulid Nabi). The event was held at the auditorium of PTA Yogyakarta, attended by  all Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, and Registrars/Secretaries of Religious Courts entire Yogyakarta Special Province (DIY) who came with their respective representatives of judges and officials.

According to Chairman of PTA Yogyakarta, Drs. H. M. Hasan H. Muhammad, SH., MH., the commemoration of Prophet's birthday this year themed: 'Through the Commemoration of birthday of the Prophet Muhammad We Improve Public Services in the Field of Law', was a form of love and yearning of members of religious courts of Yogyakarta to the Prophet Muhammad. The chosen theme of commemoration was associated with the morals of the prophet Muhammad who is a role model expected to be internalized and modeled by the members and religious courts entire DIY, for then to be implemented in daily duties as public servants in law field.

The event commenced at 10:00 am, beginning with the recital of the holy verses of Alqur’an by Edi Purwanto, SAg., a Junior Registrar of Wates Religious Court  who recited Surah Ar-rahman verse 1 to 9. Following later, conveying of the report by the committee chairman, Sujarwo, SH., Deputy Registrar of PTA Yogyakarta. Meanwhile, the sermon on Prophet's Birthday was conveyed by Police Commissioner H. Imam Subarno from Provincial Police Quarter of Yogyakarta.

Imam Sabarno a famous Yogyakarta preacher who is also a police officer at the Yogyakarta Provincial police Quarter on his introductory lecture told the exemplary stories of how the Prophet Muhammad loved his ummat (followers), so that even before his death he felt so worry, till (Angel) Jibril comforted him by preaching him that his people would take precedence to enter paradise over other prophets’ people.

Narrated, there were three things were worried about by Prophet Muhammad before his death, namely: the people, women, and (upholding of) sholat. With regard to women, Imam Sabarno said that the arrival of Islam has raised the degree of women and their rights, even a mother is glorified to deserve a child's devotions three times over the rights of father.

In his description of sholat, Imam Sabarno told the meaning of each prayer time with its respective privileges. In each time praying there are rewards given by God to those who performe it. Those so much rewards of sholat are just enjoyed by the people of the Prophet Muhammad as khotamul Anbiya ' (The Last Messenger).

Next on the his message of Maulid, Imam Sabarno, invited to emulate the characters of the Prophet Muhammad, among others in terms of discipline and affection. "... The sun (as-Shams) is always on time. Besides, like the sun, it illuminates not just for Muslim only, but for all without vote, "said Imam Subano while citing hadith about the command to respect the neighbors and that about respecting the guests.

Although simple, the event which was funded by tuition of members went solemnly carried by the rhythm of speech of Imam Sabarno that was relaxing but substantial, and occasionally added color with jokes among religious messages conveyed. He also told his experiences as a police as well as preacher. Unrealized, the time had shown at 11.30 pm before the Zuhur praying time. The event closed with the reading of prayers. Ended on a hot day, but it provided supplies of coolness in the hearts.
