Yogyakarta | pta-yogyakarta.go.id (19/11/10) - On Friday, 19 November 2010 Chairwoman of Regional Dharmayukti Karini of Yogyakarta Special Province, Mrs. Hj. Asnidar A. Syarhuddin, SPd., And the delegation of Regional Board of Dharmayukti Karini visited to the office of Kedaulatan Rakyat (KR) Daily Newspaper. The visit was an expression of solidarity for the victims of Mount Merapi natural disaster. On the occasion, the Chairwoman of Regional Dharmayukti Karini submitted aid to the victims through KR in the form of cash money amounting to Rp. 3.235.000,- received by representative of this biggest regional daily newspaper in Yogyakarta.

After submitting aid through the KR's Office, the delegation went to The Pondok Pesantren (Boarding School of Islam) Pabelan Muntilan to see firsthand the condition of the refugees. Still visible along the way fallen trees scattered on roadsides that showed of virulence of the Merapi eruption  a few days ago. Shot of volcanic ash and hot clouds (wedhus Gembel) devastated parts of Yogyakarta and Central Java areas and made them like ghost towns. Volcanic ash is still very thick, the visibility is only 10 meters.

Having arrived at Pondok Pesantren Pabelan Muntilan, the delegation were accepted by the leader of Pabelan Boarding School, Drs. H. Ahmad Mustofa, SH., who seemed very pleased to welcome their visit. Ahmad Mustofa is a former High Judge of Yogyakarta High Religious Court who now focuses on coaching moslem community in the educational field. The Boarding School which he led now becomes a place of refugees whose homes are in danger radius of Mount Merapi disaster. Most refugees had not yet known the current condition of their homes since Mount Merapi began to shot out the lava and hot clouds.

After conveying the point of visiting to Pondok Pesantren Pabelan, Mrs. Hj. Asnidar A. Syarhuddin, SPd representing regional Dharmayukti of Yogyakarta symbolically delivered aid to the victims of the Merapi eruption whose condition is very poor and does need help. The assistance provided in the form of primary foodstuffs consisting of rice, sugar, tea, cooking oil, milk, ketchups, snacks, and, the instant noodles. Aids were also provided in the form of sanitary napkins, man underwears, diapers and suitable clothes.

Ahmad Mustofa welcomed the aid being delivered. According to him the provided help would be very useful because the displaced victims of the Merapi eruption consisting of the old, youth, kids basically came to the place without carrying anything in their haste to escape, and until now the condition is very alarming.
