The Inauguration of a New Woman High Judge

Chairman of the High Religious Court of Yogyakarta (PTA Yogyakarta), on Friday (02/03/12) inaugurated Dr. Hj. Djazimah Muqoddas, SH., MHum. as the high judge of PTA Yogyakarta. Previously, Hj. Djazimah Muqoddas is a high judge of PTA Jakarta.

The inauguration ceremony held in the main courtroom of PTA Yogyakarta was attended by the chairmen of the religious courts throughout the Province of Yogyakarta Special Region and all high judges of PTA Yogyakarta. It was also attended by family of Hj. Djazimah Muqoddas, and the Chairman of PTA Jakarta with delegates.

The Chairman of PTA Yogyakarta, Drs. H. Ahmad Syarhuddin, SH., MH. in his address said that the reform of the bureaucracy is a situation demand which absolutely must be supported by every judiciary apparatus toward the realization of modern and accountable court which is characterized by the professionalism of the court apparatus, the transparency of case administration and general administration management by providing the widest access to the public.

The Chairman added that in the frame of functionalization of the role of the appellate courts as the outpost of the Supreme Court, PTA Yogyakarta needs to realize supervision on the religious courts within its jurisdiction on the eight programs of bureaucratic reform.

These eight programs include: the timely case settlement management, well-planned management of human resources, management of website for information disclosure and public services, implementation of information desk services to provide information; excellent public service, the application of Siadpa Plus as the automation of case administration patterns, implementation of program of Justice for All that consists of services of case without cost, circuit court services, and legal aid post (posbakum).

"I believe by the capacity and capability as a high judge of the metropolitan city and having a sufficient academic predicate, Djazimah Muqoddas can pass on the experience and knowledge in the jurisdiction of PTA Yogyakarta, and have a role as an agent of change of PTA Yogyakarta," said Chairman of PTA Yogyakarta.

 The newly inaugurated high judge, Djazimah Muqoddas is the only woman high judge among high judges of PTA Yogyakarta, as well as the only high judge having a doctorate in PTA Yogyakarta.
